Book - The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom

This book has been on the bestseller list for a while now, and has been on my list to check out from the library for just about as long. I finally got around to checking it out and reading it, and I really enjoyed it.

This is a fictional account of Eddie, an oceanside park maintenance worker, and the five people he meets when he gets to heaven. You get to see pieces and stories of Eddie's life unfold as he meets with each of the five people, and what they have to show and teach him. Eddie just wants to have his questions answered - what was his life about and was it worth anything?

The author, Mitch Albom, also wrote the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" and I believe he wanted to convey the message that all of us are interconnected, that each of our lives cross other people's lives, and they in turn affect others, sometimes because of something we have or haven't done, that we did or didn't say. We're all part of a bigger picture here, in spite of all of our small stories, but we all have them, and they are all part of a larger story.

This was an enjoyable read, not a theological piece, and for a piece of fiction, I really liked it. It's a small book, a quick read, so I would recommend it to others. If you do get a chance to read it, I hope you enjoy it! :)
